THE KILGARVAN MOTOR MUSEUM Collecting and restoring since the mid 1970’s as a hobby. During this period visitors from all over the world have visited us, many of them bring their own vintage or classic cars.

The Beetle Cabriolet began production in 1949 by Karmann in Osnabrück, 331,84 were made.

As this is a family run museum you get personal service and you can browse the exhibits at your ease, we are passionate about classic and vintage vehicles and we are dedicated to preserving a little part of Ireland’s motoring heritage. We are located in the heart of some of the best driving roads in Ireland with stunning scenery to match, Kilgarvan motor museum is close to many of the great driving routes such as the Wild Atlantic Way, the Ring of Kerry, the Ring of Beara as well as some famous rally stages such as Moll’s Gap, Healy Pass and Borlin.

Just met the Dutch VW mob here in Dundalk on their tour. Wonderful people. I used to live in the Netherlands for a while and it was wonderful to meet them here in their wonderfully turned out VWs. Will absolutely call to the museum when I am back down south again.

I found it `bout the internet before starting from germany . A very lovely place and very nice people there . We talked a lot `bout old cars , holiday and somerthing else . Since I`m home again there is a Kilgarvan Motor Museum sticker on my Karmann Ghia . It is an interesting collection ; you can explore a lot !
